The FIA has announced Maxxis as the tyre of choice for a number of its international categories’ European and World Championships for 2024-2026.
In a coup for the Taiwanese rubber company, it will supply to the European and World OK and OKJ (Junior) categories, along with the OK-N World Cup and Academy Trophy series’ over the three year period.
The Prime-named tyre will be used in the OK category, while the Option-named tyre will be used in OK-J, OK-N and Academy.
“(Maxxis) products are known around the world and can be seen fitted on a wide range of vehicles, including bicycles, motorcycles, cars, SUVs, buses, trucks and industrial vehicles,” said Akhbar Ebrahim, FIA Karting Commissioner. “They are now bringing their expertise and reputation with karting tyres to FIA Karting competition.”
Maxxis Tyres are used in Australia as the control tyre for Cadet 9 and Cadet 12 competition and are imported by St George Kart Centre in Sydney.
